Touring Sport Ducshop Ducati Hope to Grab MotoGT Crown

Touring Sport Ducshop Ducati heads to New Jersey Motorsports Park this weekend for the penultimate round of the AMA Pro SunTrust Moto-GT championship with high hopes of securing their third consecutive championship title.
Frank Shockley and Huntley Nash will ride the GT2 class leading No. 77 Ducati PS1000LE while Pete Friedland and Brad Phillips will ride the team’s No. 38 bike.

Shockley and Nash need only finish on the podium to clinch the title, a good chance considering their near-perfect season.

According to the AMA they have “the distinction of having the best finishing record in AMA Pro Road Racing in 2009 with four wins and three second-place finishes in seven starts this season”.

Last year’s race at NJMP was a difficult one for the team. While battling for the lead an oil fitting came loose forcing them into the pits, finishing in third place. Team owner Frank Shockley is hoping for a smooth race this year. The season finale will be at Daytona International Speedway on October 17.
